Thanks to my dear friend Nick Mougis for this link. It’s good to know people are still out there with their nose/ears/throat to the grindstone tracking this kinda stuff down. I can only hope that this was a clip from a longer CSI:Miami episode scored entirely with wall-to-wall No Doubt. It goes a little crazy with the showoffy wipes past the three-minute mark, but we can cut them some slack. This is Horatio and Calleigh we’re talking about*. They apparently haven’t spoken in over 26 episodes. Maybe non-stop cross-zooms are the only way to express that.

*I don’t know who these people are. I have theories that “Horatio” is David Caruso and that would make the blond lady “Calleigh”.

Welcome back.

Here’s a one from Germany, I believe, that proves that the desire to string together still images of David Caruso at various stages in his long career transcends borders and even vast oceans. This video, dubbed “argubly the worst video on YouTube” by commenter dogbert14, makes terrific use of R. Kelly’s inspiring “The World’s Greatest” in its second half. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Oh gosh this is a good one.

There are a number of weird choices that creator sessionshair makes, the biggest of which is the decision to produce this video in the first place. User tanyadell writes:

“I am new here and I just wanted to say I enjoyed this video very much.I don’t get the people who are griping about it if you don’t like it don’t wacth it I am a big fan of David Caruso and enjoy everything I find on him so thank you to the maker of this video for making my day”

But a user named rossy104 offers a different take, commenting “what a pile of shit, I would kill u if my eyes hadnt exploded from the crapness of yr video”.

We’re into editing our show “Human Giant”. We’ve got about 7 weeks to finish it and we’ll be on TV starting March 11th. The timeframe means we’re cutting about one sketch (around 2 to 4 minutes of screen time, usually) per day.

The workload is pretty intense, but only a fraction of how intense David Caruso’s gaze is in this video while he stares at the grave of someone I can only assume was very close to him. Bon appétit.

The above clip was actually the original, official music video for the Radiohead song “Creep”, before they got all weirdo on us.

Today pretty much worked. It was one of the most fun and insane shoot days of my short-lived career. I would bet we shot more footage than any single day in Human Giant history, and we didn’t wind up shooting all night like we have a couple of times. All of the scrounging and corner-cutting and grabbing scenes on our own over the past few months let us pool everything into it. It may be the conclusion of the “Shutterbugs” saga, and we pretty much refused to cut corners or give up stuff we were excited about; I feel like it’s going to turn into one of our favorite pieces we’ve ever produced. Counting all of the crew, actors, extras, set medic, etc…we had a team of 80 people today - about double the most that we’ve had on a single day over the past two seasons of the show.

Our stunt coordinator, Manny Siverio, is an amazing dude. I watched him in about ten minutes construct a full prison riot starring not a single stuntman. And it looked amazing.

Everyone delivered, performance-wise and crew-wise. Bobb’e J is once again something else. Can’t wait to finish it.

All right, so this one breaks the rules a little bit. It’s full motion (not stills pulled from Google Images) but I defy you to tell me it’s any less inspirational than the other tribute montages to David Caruso that people have taken the time to put together and upload to YouTube that I have then posted to this tumblelog.

Today was shoot day 8 of 11 in a row. We shot a scene with a young chimp named Louie and damned if he wasn’t the friendliest, most well-behaved animal I have ever met. Really, it was like playing with the world’s coolest kid. I have video of me letting him jump up and down on my back and giddly tickling him like a jerk while people around me did their jobs and set up lights. I would post it but I’m afraid it would be in violation of this blog’s charter.

Tomorrow is the craziest day Human Giant has ever attempted. We take over a prison in Brooklyn and fill it with kids and fake prisoners. There’s rioting. There’s guest appearances by friends like Bill Hader, Matt Walsh, Andy Samberg and young fan-favorite Bobb’e J Thompson. There’s a crazy fight scene, prosthetic make-up effects, dolly shots - we’re blowing it out on this one. Here’s to hoping it goes good!

Today was day 2 of our 11 insane final shooting days in a row. I haven’t gotten more than 3 hours sleep for the past two nights.

Last night I came home around 2am and had to storyboard/figure out how to shoot a sketch where Rob Huebel levitates around an office building. Unable to afford wire-rigs and stunt men, we shot it using a bunch of trick angles, green screen, multiple passes, and good old fashioned American fake legs. I went to bed and woke up 3 hours later at 5:30 for a 7am call time. I was dead on my feet, but we got through it. Knowing that someone took the time to make and upload this still-image Caruso tribute set to Army of Lovers’ “Obsession”, however, makes it all worthwhile.

I hope you’ll agree.

Things are pretty crazy at the tv show “Human Giant” right now. Oh, man. We’re shooting for the next 11 days without a break and finishing out Season 2. It’s a real doozy. But here’s another Slideshow Tribute to David Caruso from YouTube that I think you might enjoy. This is what commenter intentonvincent had to say:

“I like him very much, although he is so unreal like a string puppet or smt. He just does not look like ordinary human being, and it is not a backward compliment.”
